You Can Do Better Than Xocai

The issue of child slavery and trafficing in the cacao industry in the Ivory Coast has made headlines recently and is being investigated and reported on by CNN and other investigative journalists. Xocai chocolate consumers and distributors are now asking if Xocai uses chocolate that was farmed through child slavery. Unfortunately for Xocai, many people are looking at this issue and deciding that the chocolate Xocai buys is part of the child slave labor and trafficing problem which appears to be universal in the Ivory Coast.

Jeanette Brooks and Xocai vehemently deny that their company sell products farmed with child slave labor. Jeanette also has stated numerous times that Xocai's chocolate manufacturer buy cacao from small family farms located in the Ivory Coast, Africa and is "Fairtrade Certified".

It really doesn't matter which Ivory Coast sourced chocolate manufacturer Xocai buys from, but it appears Barry Callebaut is their chocolate sourcing and manufacturing partner. It doesn't matter because when you investigate the farming of Ivory Coast chocolate, all the major suppliers including Barry Callebaut signed the fair trade agreement and said they would not enable child slave labor and trafficing in the cacao industry in anyway which are Good Words but implementation of the agreement is flawed.

As they say: "the devil is in the details" and so it is with enforcement of the Ivory Coast Cacao Fairtrade Agreement. The short version of the story appears to be: the agreement is poorly, if ever, enforced and child labor, slavery and trafficing are endemic to the Ivory Coast.

I have not been to the Ivory Coast and am certainly not expert in this area, but I did sufficient research online to think that is the case.

If this issue is important to you, I recommend the following:

stop listening to Xocai and/or your upline and do your own critical research
Google the subject and go at least 30 pages deep in the search results, see what info there is
view the investigative journalist videos and see what you think, make up your own mind
decide what your ethics require if you determine child slave labor and trafficing are involved

WOW! The "sucralose in Xocai shake" is a small ethical problem compared to child slave labor & trafficing.

Just so you know, all the non-cacao-industry reports indicate the problem is real and that all chocolate companies that source cacao from the Ivory Coast are part of the problem, not the solution. That would put Xocai in the same category presuming you believe those non-industry reports instead of reports created by the chocolate industry.

Is Xocai "cold pressed cacao" Claim Real?

Ever since we were introduced to Xocai, they claimed the reason for their super high ORAC score (before the advent of ORACfn) was that they had the only chocolate in the world made from "cold pressed cacao beans" which preserves the high antioxidant values of raw cacao.

That claim was the basis of Xocai's marketing for many years although they refused to provide any verification that the cold pressing process existing and also refused to state who they purchased their chocolate from and who their finishing factory was.

I and others have done lots of research on "cold pressed cacao" and have not turned up any major cacao supply company that offers chocolate processed that way. With the hints dropped by Jeanette, it is probable the company that supplies Xocai with chocolate is the Barry-Callebaut Chocolate Company:

So where does the "cold pressed cacao" information really come from or is it just marketing hype invented by Jeanette? I certainly can't answer that question and absolutely no one who knows is telling....maybe that in itself is telling.

I also remember at the introduction of Xocai Xobiotic chocolate, Jeanette stating she has an exclusive on this product from the manufacturer and it will stay exclusive to Xocai provided they maintain a certain promised purchasing level from their manufacturer. Hey! That is great product and I do miss it although it is a bit light on types of probiotics and you can do better eating our Chava and taking some top notch probiotics that are economical to buy and much more effective the Xobiotic.

Interestingly, Barry-Callebaut Chocolate has been offering a probiotic chocolate for sale to anyone:

I guess that means the purchase requirements were not met to keep this product exclusive to Xocai, presuming Barry-Callebaut is their chocolate source.

So once bulk chocolate is purchased from a supplier like Barry-Callebaut Chocolate, it has to be shipped to a finishing factory where it is melted, final ingredients can be added, the melted chocolate is then formed, wrapped and packaged.

Who does the chocolate finishing for Xocai? Well, I now have a second Diamond or above source who is talking to us and they said the finishing factory in North America for Xocai is Dynamic Chocolates in Delta, British Columbia, Canada http://www.dynamicchocolates.com/index.html

I cannot make the claim that this is Xocai's chocolate finisher but it would fit as Dynamic Chocolates states they source their chocolate from Barry-Callebaut Chocolates.

So what does this have to do with the price of corn? Absolutely nothing!! Just some interesting info that any existing or prospective Xocai distributor should consider and this info is very likely correct, you decide.

By the way, the "imaginary" cold pressed cacao processing technique IS NOT the source of Xocai's high ORAC score, their ORAC score exceeds raw cacao. The real source is the "extract" package that is added to Xocai chocolates and what is in that extract package is not revealed by Xocai other than the major ingredients include extracts from acai and blue berries and who knows what else?

Ahhhhhh! There's the rub! Jeanette knows but you and I never will.

Can the sucralose in Xocai X-Protein Shake Cause Inflammatory Bowel Disease?

If you are consuming any product containing sucralose (Splenda), I strongly advise you to do some research and evaluate the possible risks of consuming it. Both Xocai's X-Protein Shake and Visalus Shake have sucralose in them and in my opinion, no amount of sucralose is safe to consume.

More and more research is reporting possible links between serious health challenges and sucralose and today Dr. Mercola's newletter had an eye-opening article:

Since we left Xocai after the 2010 Celebration convention last year and started building the excellent company we found to replace Xocai, we have welcomed many quality people into our Waiora business including many ex-Xocai distributors.

We have been very busy and successful with our Waiora business but our marketing to attract Xocai distributors has been 99% passive to date. We have a big internet presence and curious Xocai reps want to find out if there is a better healthy chocolate than Xocai and ALL of them are interested in having a better compensation plan than the extremely difficult Xocai binary compensation plan.

As we get more calls and welcome more Xocai distributors to our Waiora team, we find their biggest concern is that Xocai is slowly failing as a company and they fear their time and effort will be wasted if they continue to build a Xocai business. The 2011 rank advancements in Xocai have even the most dedicated Xocai leaders fearful and many are preparing their Plan-B for their Xocai business and some are pulling the trigger and making it their Plan-A.

We are also receiving more calls from distributors terminated by Xocai and hear 3rd party stories about an increase in Xocai distributor terminations. It appears there is now little tolerance for many distributors who are successful, professional, well respected network marketers but let it be known that they belong to more than one network marketing company.

These Xocai distributor terminations have created fear in many distributors for the short term and stopped them from joining another company. I suspect the long term effect of these terminations will be very different and this "tough tactic" will win the battle but lose the war.

People want to feel valued by their company and an atmosphere of fear is counter productive. The toughest part of network marketing is finding distributors who will take action and build their business. Talk is cheap and all that really counts is the sharing, followups, 3 ways and helping new distributors learn and do.

Of course having great products and a realistic compensation plan are vital. That is where Xocai has what is possibly their biggest problem, the Xocai binary compensation plan. In binary comp plans, it is typically very difficult to attain higher rank and binary comp plans also unevenly distribute commissions which results in the big distributors (Diamond and above) getting huge commissions while the little distributors run their business at a loss. It is easy to look at the network marketing industry and see the massive numbers of distributors that companies using binary compensation plans run through. Xocai distributors are finding this out for themselves, especially in this tough economy.

Many Xocai distributors have switched and are in the process of switching to our company, Waiora. The products are amazing including a healthy chocolate that is much tastier and much more powerful than any Xocai chocolate. Waiora was founded in 2004 and is also debt free. Our 15 months in Waiora have shown us their ethics and commitment to distributors, who are treated a valuable partners; there is no "us versus them" mentality.

The differences between the Xocai compensation plan and the Waiora compensation plan are night and day. Most of the Xocai distributors that have switched to our team have made over $500 USD their first month and many have paid off their investment and made over $1,000 USD their first month. We are seeing many of distributors attain the rank of Ruby each month (between Bronze & Silver in Xocai); we had four new Rubies in October 2011. So we invite all Xocai distributors to put emotion aside and evaluate their Xocai business as a business and also evaluate the business trend in Xocai. It makes no sense to listen to "spin" and propaganda put out by Adam Paul Green or other "vested" Xocai leaders. They are "riding the pony till it drops". Most Xocai Gold and above distributors will do everything they can to verbally protect their business, even while they see their business faltering and see disturbing company trends and actions. I don't blame them. They spent a huge amount of time, effort and money building their Xocai business and also have personal reputation involved. They are in a really tough spot.

But sooner or later the piper must be paid and personal ethics are very important in this business. One of the BIG reasons we left Xocai is we could no longer look a prospect in the eye and tell them the average person can make a profit in Xocai. Our experience and the experience of so many excellent Xocai distributors taught us that only a handful of people were making a profit. While the top distributors were making a killing, the new and little distributors were losing money.

It is possible to make a profit at the Xocai Silver level, but most of our friends at that level were not making a profit and we can state that as solid Silvers in Gold qualification (we were a big, stable Silver), the profits we enjoyed were certainly not worth the work we were doing and the "monkey works" at the Xocai 2010 Celebration convention convinced us to find a better company, we did!

Our Waiora U.S. group is growing at an excellent clip and our big push is opening Europe with Waiora. We have a top notch team in Malmo, Sweden and that is headed by an ex-Xocai distributor who was doing continued research on Xocai and health products and found our websites. We are are now pushing our expansion into the rest of Sweden. We are ready to bring Waiora to the other European countries including Norway, Denmark, the UK, Germany, France and Hungary.

How ex-Xocai Distributors Are Being Treated In Waiora

We left Xocai after the 2010 convention (sucralose in the Xocai X-Protein Shake pushed us over the edge) and started building our Waiora business in August of 2010. We hit Ruby our first two weeks and Emerald our second month and are now approaching Diamond.

In September 2011 we attended the Waiora Freedom University in Irvine, California and were on stage again. Our deluxe hotel suite was paid for by Waiora because we are Top Performers.

We have also just been named one their top 15 business builders in the company and have been awarded a fabulous, all expense paid, trip to New York City in early December. Waiora bought plane tickets from our home in Florida to NYC, we get picked up in a limo and taken to Le Parker Meridian hotel for 3 days, treated to a deluxe reception, treated to a Broadway show (Donna selected Chicago) and also treated to a super deluxe feast. This company is FIRST CLASS and rewards you for your efforts!

Xocai Week 40 - Year to Date Rank Advancement Comparison 2011 vs 2010

This is an update to a previous post courtesy of one of Adam Paul Green's Diamond distributors who is looking at possibly switching companies and joining our team. He is formulating a Plan-B because his Xocai income continues to decline.

The health of a network marketing company can easily be determined by looking at their current year rank advancements vs the prior year. Xocai makes this easy because they publish 2010 and 2011 rank advancements on http://www.xocai.com/ under Associates - Thrilling Thursdays. The latest rank advancements listed are through Week 40 and it is easy to see the huge drop in advancements compared to 2010. Despite what Xocai corporate and top Xocai leaders tell their distributors, this is the truest indicator of the company's health.

I do not take delight in these numbers because there are so many excellent people attracted to Xocai who get frustrated when they don't make money and instead of finding the right company and compensation plan they quit network marketing. If you are frustrated with your Xocai business, give me a call and lets chat. So here are the grim numbers:

WOW! Those are really bad numbers! If you think my math is wrong, go to Xocai's website and add them up yourself but write down the names as you look at the week advancements because sometimes the same rank advancement is listed under multiple weeks.

By the way, our experience as solid Xocai Silvers who knew many Silvers and Golds is that Silvers are not profitable. Also keep in mind that because of Xocai's binary compensation plan, most Silver and above rank advancements happen because of a really big team push and the volume is NOT maintained. So a new Silver or new Gold or above typically achieves the rank but their pay drops back down to their previous level because their volume is not sustainable. This drop back is actually expected but reps don't find out about it until they hit that level.

So how is our Waiora business doing? Well, in October our team had 4 new Ruby distributors in just one month! A Waiora Ruby is about half way between a Xocai Bronze and Silver and all of our Rubys are profitable. We have had a number of new distributors hit Ruby their first month!

So make the business decision to NOT drink the koolaid from the upline. Adam Paul Green stated to my sponsor that he will "go down with the ship" before he considers switching to another company. YOU don't need to go down with Adam Paul Green's ship . He has made piles of money with his Xocai business while only a handful of his thousands of distributors have made money. That is the way with most binary compensation plans and is one of the reasons you see these dismal rank advancement numbers for Xocai in 2011.

Decide if your Xocai distributorship is a hobby (spending money) or a business (making money) and understand that those upline people hugging you and telling you how wonderful you are, are merely "business friends" and will disappear if you stop contributing to their income.

Am I Angry at Xocai? No.....Just Disappointed

Because of our internet presence we have many current and ex-Xocai reps communicating with us and quite a few of them have joined our Waiora team and some are just wholesale customers, same as they were in Xocai.

Some people read this blog and the materials on our website http://www.youcandobetter.info/ and ask if we are still angry with Xocai and our response is that we have always been greatful to have been exposed to Xocai and the concept of healthy chocolate but we are very disappointed with Xocai as a company and their corporate ownership and some of their top leaders and the 2010 convention and introduction of the sucralose laced X-Protein shake was our tipping point.

We loved Xocai's hard chocolates and Activ and consumed and sold lots of them. In our view the Xocai compensation plan is really a tough plan for the average person to make money with and pin advancements are super tough. This is reflected in the few Xocai rank advancements for 2011. This is really brought home when you compare their 2011 Xocai rank advancements to 2010 and consider the size of Xocai as a company. Having some great products will only carry a company so far, especially when you have management/owner mistakes and bad distributor communication, not to mention a perceived lack of respect for distributors. In network marketing the distributor is both the backbone of the business and the business partner of the company.

We have seen many network marketing go out of business that were not truthful with their distributors in all respects including product manufacturing techniques and use of misleading presentations.

One of the blesssings of having been a Xocai distributor is better health; healthy chocolate is real and because of Xocai we were open to Waiora Chava Vital Chocolate which takes the health benefits of Xocai healthy chocolate much further with a much more powerful and tasty product.

Although Xocai falsely implied cold-pressing was responsible for their verified high ORAC scores, their hard and liquid chocolates do have great health benefits and we helped many people better their health with these products. So the answer again is: NO, we are not angry with Xocai. Just deeply disappointed. But the entire experience was a positive one for us and positioned us for great success with Waiora!

Has Xocai Lost Momentum - Xocai Rank Advancements 2010 vs 2011

OK, I'll stop beating this to death, BUT, I had an interesting conversation with a Xocai Diamond in Adam Green's organization this morning and he relayed the HUGE concern about Xocai's momentum and is preparing his Plan-B which may well be our company and our team in particular.

He told me to take a closer look at the rank advancements between 2010 and thus far in 2011 (week 28 7-17-11 is the latest rank advancement info). All this info is available on Thrilling Thursdays (http://www.xocai.com/). Yep! It is a real eye opener, check it our for yourself.

Here is a synopsis:

2011 vs 2010

2 - 6 Double Diamonds

1 - 6 Diamonds

3 - 15 Platinums

6 - 43 Gold

8 - 107 Silver

55 - 374 Bronze

During 2010 the rank advancements were evenly spread across the year and most of the rank advancements were in the US and Canada. Half the rank advancements for 2011 are in Europe, especially the higher ranks. The US and Canada rank advancements are dismal.

One could expect the numbers for 2011 to be at least half of 2010 if Xocai was "maintaining" and to be 75% of 2010 if Xocai were "in momentum".

What is going on?

My reading is: Xocai introduced two highly hyped products in 2010, XE Energy Drink and X-Protein Shake. It is apparent neither product has attracted a market following other than the "true believer" Xocai reps and both products are "cannibals" (take sales away from other Xocai products).

XE has made it's splash and now there is nary a ripple. X-Protein Shake has stopped shaking as people realized it is extremely expensive and has sucralose (Splenda) in it and many people have also realized that the life style modifications, limited caloric intake and box of Xocai chocolate probably have a bigger impact on their weight loss than the X-Protein Shake.

The Xocai Healthy Peanut Butter Cup is another "cannibal" product and has very low ORACfn and flavonoid scores compared to Xocai's other products and especially compared to our chocolate. At $2 each cup (wholesale price including shipping), it is hard to believe there will be any consumer market for this "healthy candy", other than "true believer" Xocai reps.

I don't know what formula Xocai can use to regain momentum or even to stay in business as a network marketing company at this point. The last three products are bombs but not "the bomb".

Small Lies - How Much Do They Matter

If you have read through our http://www.youcandobetter.info/ website, you have seen our article on Dr. David Bell and his presentation at the 2010 Xocai international convention. He was falsely presented as representing Brunswick Labs and gave a glowing endorsement of Xocai's products regarding their high antioxidant values.

It was a few months later, after we had resigned from Xocai, that we personally met the President of Brunswick Labs and learned Dr. David Bell had not been associated with them for years and WAS NOT representing them at the Xocai convention in spite of the big banner behind the podium stating otherwise.

Jeanette stood on stage and introduced Dr. Bell and stated he "happened" to be in town and "unexpectedly" contacted her and wanted to attend the convention and even wanted to address the Xocai reps. She said she was VERY nervous because she had absolutely no idea what he was going to say and hoped it would be favorable info re:Xocai's products. REALLY?

At the time I just figured it was more silliness and no person in their right mind would believe that malarky. When I found out the real facts it upset me from the standpoint that the 1,000 odd distributors at that convention were being made fools of by the president of their company.

So does this really matter?

It has been my experience in life that if a person or company lies to me about small, insignificant things, they have no compunction about issuing bigger untruths. It calls every "fact" they state and all information they present into question. It also voids all "promises" they make, I just plain and simple don't trust them at any level.

Now that is NOT a relationship of mistrust that I want with a company I am building my future with. I am so happy to be gone from Xocai and thrilled with our business and products. How about you?

Is Xocai Going Out of Business?

Not that I know of.

The immediate future of MXI - Xocai is not rosy and I would not be surprised to see a major change in the marketing of Xocai's products before the end of the year but I have no real idea what will happen.

We are getting greatly increased communication with Xocai reps at the Gold and higher rank who are preparing a Plan-B and want to see what our opportunity and products are all about. The last 3 Xocai product introductions are troublesome:

first there was XE energy drink which has a very limited following. Our substantial Xocai team had almost no XE sales volume and the little that was being sold was being consumed by Xocai reps.
then came the super expensive diet shake X-Protein shake which has a controversial artificial sweetener (sucralose) in it. X-Protein shake competes against Visalus and many other low priced diet shakes and was certainly not a success in our group.
the latest product is "healthy" peanut butter cups which have flavonoid and orac values that are a fraction of Xocai's other products and sell for $2 each. I suspect it will be a huge challenge attracting retail customers, so this is yet another "cannibal" product for Xocai

What is a "cannibal" product? That is a product that reps purchase but they purchase it INSTEAD of purchasing Xobiotic or whatever they have been using. It is not an additional sale, it is a replacement sale and does not add sales volume or profitability to a rep.

To maximize commissions, a Xocai Executive or higher has to be on a 2 case autoship which costs over $250. In today's tough economy many reps are reducing their autoships to 1 box just to remain commissionable and keep their "banked" volume. When we left Xocai we had almost a million dollars in "banked" volume on our spillover leg and we walked away from it. The chances of a rep finding a "superstar" and putting them in their "weak" leg so they can get paid on that "banked" volume is slim to none. The "banked" volume becomes more of a method of retaining reps by getting them to think of that "banked" volume as "money in the bank". For all but a small handful of reps that is delusional.

We now have a substantial list of leaders that are waiting for their paychecks to drop a bit further before taking action on switching companies. They are protective of what they have built which I certainly understand and are in the very difficult position of having to maintain and get paid until the last minute, knowing it takes some time to generate income in network marketing. We were in that same position with Xocai but the antics at the 2010 convention and the introduction of the sucralose laced X-Protein shake pushed us over the edge and we resigned.

To all appearances the Xocai 2011 convention was MUCH smaller than 2010. According to some reps we have talked to it was 1/2 the size or even smaller. We don't know, we certainly were not there, but after viewing the photos it certainly appears more like a medium size regional meeting than Xocai's grand international convention. Yet another sign of difficulties.

So what are Xocai's options?

It is possible they will come up with a wonderful product that everyone loves and can develop new sales with but based on the last three product introductions that looks pretty skinny.
They can also sell the company to another network marketing company, that rumour has been going around for a couple of years but there is no public substantiation that they have put Xocai up for sale.
They can close the company. Jeanette has a history of that with a few of her previous companies.
They can end the network marketing distribution of their products and sell them retail through Walmart and drug stores. Jeanette's previous company, Pure-Delight Chocolates, was distributed that way until it went out of business. This is a distinct possibility.

The next few months will be very interesting ones for Xocai distributors and my best advice to them is to prepare a Plan-B and figure out at what point to pull the trigger on that Plan-B.

I believe completely in network marketing but you have to have the right company, timing, products, leadership, corporate ownership......or you are wasting your time and effort. We have found this out the hard way during our 35 years in this industry.

Now this is just TOO funny!

I just got off the phone with an existing Xocai top distributor in Jeremy Reynold's organization. He told me my readings of Xocai's back office numbers are correct and we had a very nice, private, conversation.

He said I was a "Xocai Truther" and we both had a big laugh! I've been called a lot of things by some top Xocai reps including Adam Green, but this is just WAY TOO FUNNY!

He is keeping his options open but is not yet ready to lose his Xocai income by switching to another company. He also stated that if his income keeps declining at the current pace he will be forced to find another or different income stream within the next four to six months and we may be it.

If you haven't gone to your Xocai back office and done the math on the Healthy Leader Team Points contest which ended in May, 2011 and you haven't looked at the lack of advancements in the Thrilling Thursday links, it is time to do so.

I truly believe network marketing is THE BEST tool to achieve the ideal lifestyle.

BUT.......you have to find the right company, right timing, right products, right corporate owners, right field leadership and right economic climate. We have been network marketers for 35 years and had our share of success and failures and we can state for a fact that if any of those items on that list are not there, you are wasting your time building that company and you should take your desire, experience and work ethic elsewhere.

After 2-1/2 years, we determined that for us, Xocai misses on a couple of those points and although we had many friends in Xocai we made the very painful choice to find a company that met those criteria. Our Xocai upline was NOT paying our bills and although they professed their love and support, it was not enough to overcome the inherent problems of that company.

Many people join a network marketing company and treat it like a club they belong to or a hobby and are not serious about the business side. If that is you and you enjoy your Xocai friends and the "Xocai culture", then stay where you are and just enjoy the ride.

If you are serious about generating income and lifestyle, you should step back from the hype, hyperbole and misinformation. We just had another three Xocai distributors find us and join our rapidly growing Waiora team! One of the ex-Xocai distributors had sponsored over 40 people in one year and was working her business very hard and not making $1,000 per month. Even worse, her team was not making money and she was losing distributors much faster than she could sponsor new ones. She loved the Xocai product but hated the Xocai binary compensation plan.

In her first week with us she has made over $1,000 and one of the people she sponsored has already brought in a new distributor who was a person that had absolutely no interest in Xocai. We have now seen this many times including in our rapidly growing Sweden group.

Our Sweden group is also ordering lots of our weight loss product, Waifit, and getting spectacular results! So many people did not read the Xocai X-Protein Shake bag label carefully and were shocked to find out it contains sucralose and wanted to replace the Xocai X-Protein Shake with a healthy product ASAP! Most people that are health conscious will not consider putting aspartame or sucralose (artificial sweeteners) in their body and refuse to call any company that markets such products a "health company".

One of the ex-Xocai distributors questioned me closely on shipping costs because his Xocai upline (Adam Green's line) told him we have very high shipping charges and are short changing distributors.

LOL - I think someone got their companies mixed up! Xocai's shipping policy has always been a source of irritation to most Xocai reps because it is obviously a profit center for Xocai. Xocai charges $15 each box of chocolate to ship to continental U.S., winter or summer and it doesn't matter if that product is going around the block to a distributor in Reno, Nevado (Xocai's shipping depot) or to a distributor in Florida. So if you are ordering 2 boxes of Xocai chocolate and live in Northern California, you will pay $30 shipping even though the actual cost is less than half that!

No wonder Xocai distributors are upset at Xocai shipping cost!

Waiora does not make shipping a profit center and charges the actual shipping and packaging charges from Salt Lake City, Utah, their shipping depot. We live in Florida and except for a couple of winter months all our Chava chocolate gets shipped to us via Fed-Ex 2-day in a styrofoam cooler with coolant packs (same as Xocai shipping to warm climates) and we have NEVER had a shipping charge as high as we had from Xocai and typically our shipping charge is half to one third of what we used to pay for 2 boxes of Xocai.

So if your Xocai upline tells you we have higher shipping costs.........just wink at them and say you know better and then tell them to pull your other leg, it has a bell on it!

Newest Xocai vs Waiora compensation plan comparison

Our newest ex-Xocai distributor has just gotten started and already has a number of people coming on board this week including two Xocai reps. BTW, she researched us and Waiora and called us, we did not know her. She computed the commissions for both companies and was completely blown away when she saw Waiora commissions would be $1400 and the Xocai commissions would have been $625 including the X-Bonus commissions but not including Infinity Bonus. If it was a perfect world, the maximum Infinity Bonus would have been another $120 but anyone familiar with Xocai's binary compensation plan knows that a rep is lucky to get half of that because of volume placement. The new Xocai pay plan updates would make it even harder to get a decent Infinity Bonus.

I can send you the math if you would like to see it and check it yourself.

The message is clear. Waiora's compensation plan is MUCH more lucrative for all distributors than Xocai's binary compensation plan. This is especially important for new distributors just getting started as they can earn back their business startup expenses quickly and start making money.

Our 2-1/2 years of experience with Xocai showed us that most Silvers are not making a profit and if you look at Xocai's current Healthy Leader Board and do some simple math you will see that a very low percentage of Xocai distributors are getting checks and of those, extremely few are actually making money when you apply their business expenses.

The top dogs at Xocai are making money but even they are being hurt by the huge distributor turnover according to the statements of a number of Diamond and above that have left Xocai in the last year. They were also very nervous about Prince Andrew becoming King Andrew in the near future. Jeanette often states that she wants to retire and turn the business over to Andrew.

Network marketing is certainly the best of all businesses and one of the few ways an average person can build a big income and wonderful lifestyle. BUT, you have to find the right company, right corporate leadership, right products, right compensation plan and the timing in the growth cycle of that company needs to be right too.

We have found all those criteria in the company we switched to, Waiora. It was a tough and emotional business decision but at some point you have to make a decision based on business parameters. Nobody is paying your bills but you! So don't let a purposely created "sense of family" with your upline keep you in a business that is costing you money and lifestyle. I highly recommend you read this article a couple of times and send it to people you care about. So very many products have sucralose or aspartame in them and consumption of these chemicals can greatly damage your body.

Here is a quote from this article: "Just as with aspartame, many Splenda users complain of general malaise or "feeling under the weather," along with a variety of neurological changes, such as foggy-headedness, lack of concentration, and "bad mood."

Unfortunately most diet products are fixated on calorie counting and include aspartame or sucralose in them. This shows either a lack of knowledge or disrespect for the health of the consumer. In any case you cannot be a "health and wellness company" and formulate products that have sucralose in them.

Both Xocai and Visalus use sucralose in their diet shakes. Waiora does not.

I was at the Xocai national convention when the X-Protein shake was released and we bought a couple of bags and were very excited until we read the label and saw sucralose on the ingredient list. We personally know Xocai reps that left Xocai and either quit network marketing (very sad) or went to a different company because of the sucralose in X-Protein issue.

My wife, Donna, felt so badly that she had to get back in bed 3 days in a row when she tried to use the X-Protein shake, most likely this was due to her body reacting to the sucralose. I'm sure her body was very sensitive to sucralose because we are careful to keep unhealthy ingredients, especially aspartame and sucralose, out of our diets and she has no physical tolerance to it.

I personally know quite a few people that have lost substantial weight on Xocai's diet plan and I respect them for their huge effort and diligence. The Xocai diet does work, the questions raised are:

is it a healthy diet since it includes sucralose
is their diet shake nutritionally balanced
is the weight loss mainly due to restricted calories, restricted diet and exercise
is the "high antioxidant diet" real or a marketing gimmick

I have spoken with numerous weight loss professionals that have examined the Xocai diet and 100% of them have told me the diet shake IS NOT nutritionally balanced and a person consuming 2 of them per day better be very careful to consume a very nutritious real meal each day. All of those weight loss professionals also stated that the "high antioxidant diet" is just a marketing gimmick and the weight loss in Xocai's diet is primarily due to restricted calories, restricted diet and exercise. The sucralose issue speaks for itself, bad, bad, bad!

Waiora's diet system is nutritionally balanced and addresses additional issues including colon detox. Couple that with Waiora's NCD cellular detox and people who have stalled on weight loss while dieting see that weight loss resume. This is because the "toxic fat" issue is addressed with Waiora's products and no other company has a product like NCD that can do this.

We have many distributors who came from Xocai and used their X-Protein shake but stopped losing weight after great initial results. When they switched to our products they resumed losing weight and felt much better mentally and physically. Having said that, not all companies, products or timing are equal and some companies use hype and misinformation as their marketing plan. Is Xocai a Scam

Let me be VERY CLEAR about this, Xocai IS NOT a scam! It is an established network marketing company that pioneered the food category of healthy chocolate and has gone on to create an energy drink and weightloss shake.

I have great respect for many leaders in Xocai including Xocai's founding distributor, Jeremy Reynolds and other well known leaders like Jared Overton, Adam Paul Green, JJ Birden, Butch and Carolyn Swaby, Paula Pritchard, Kathy Robbins, Ian and Judy Murray, Sandy Chambers, Kerry Dean, Derrick and Naomi Winkel, Janelle Vashon, Paul Engemann, Sherm and Ruth Smith, Connie Hollstein and other excellent networkers that have created large Xocai organizations.

However, all companies and products and opportunities are not equal. There is great diversity in products, corporate management, compensation plans and all other aspects including field leadership.

Xocai chose the binary compensation plan model which excites new distributors initially when they see their organization growing without their work, but they soon realize that although they have hundreds or even thousands of people in their organization, they get little to no commission unless they equal the volume through their own hard work. At that point most people get VERY frustrated and when they do start working, they realize the Xocai binary compensation plan is tilted towards rewarding the big, established distributors much more than the little distributor.

From what I have heard, the proposed changes to the Xocai compensation plan will make that situation worse and although the big pins (Diamonds and above) will get greater commissions, the impact will likely be lesser commissions for the little distributors and greater numbers of Xocai distributors quitting Xocai and unfortunately many of them will quit network marketing.

Network marketing works. Like any business, there are good and bad network marketing companies and lots of disinformation and misinformation. It is sad when a company disseminates "white lies" and worse and the impact on their distributors is huge when that becomes common knowledge. It also shows a lack of respect to their distributors when a company pumps them full of hype and disinformation and sends them out on a recruiting mission. People get really disgusted and upset when they realize they've been "had".

The good news for Xocai distributors that are in this frustrated and disgusted state, we have found the opportunity and company and products that you have been dreaming of. It took us 35 years in the network marketing industry and we experienced the good, the bad and the ugly in our journey.

So I say again: If you are completely happy with your Xocai business....stay the course, DO NOT expose yourself to the information on this blog or our websites and keep drinking the grape juice (figuratively). We DO sincerely wish you the very best of success. It is tough to build a financially successful Xocai business and even tougher to keep it together and you deserve kudos and respect for doing so!

WOW! Xocai really has bragging rights for hitting the 200,000th distributor enrollment mark!!

Or do they? Is this "information" or is it "misinformation" meant to impress and hype their distributors? I'll give you their numbers that are in YOUR Xocai back office and YOU decide. By the way, this is not proprietary information, I got it by Googling and it brought up the web pages.

Xocai's May 9, 2011 Healthy Leader Team Points document has 126 pages with 26 names per page = 3,256 distributors who have earned at least 10 points since January, 2011. So now we know how many active distributors in the entire world in Xocai.

Xocai distributors earned the points for sponsoring:
Affiliates = 10 Points
Associates = 20 Points
Business Builders = 60 Points
Executive Fast Track = 120 Points

So what constitutes an active distributor? Well, how many points would you reasonably expect a distributor that is building a Xocai business to have? I would say at least 100 points for 4 months, which is sponsoring one Business Builder and 2 Associates since the beginning of the year which is a really low performance bar and the commissions won't pay for the distributor's consumption of 1 box per month.

That would be a total of 702 Xocai distributors worldwide that are actually building a business in any way.

As an experienced, successful network marketer who worked Xocai for 2-1/2 years, I think a decent Xocai part-time distributor would sponsor one Business Builder a month, minimum, which is 240 points.

That would be 148 distributors in the entire company worldwide that are really building a business that could potentially make them money.

This means that of the entire Xocai worldwide distributor organization.....148 distributors are building a profitable business unless there are a pile of distributors making decent Infinity Bonuses, which was not the case when we were reps and I suspect that situation has only gotten worse!

BTW, most of the distributors sponsoring a decent number of people are in Europe and Tibor Odor is really doing a super job in Hungary! Norway is doing well and Sweden too. The United States and Canada are doing very little and the BIG pins are doing almost no sponsoring, guess they are all in management mode.

I suspect the 200,000 distributor number reflects anyone who has ever signed up with Xocai in their entire history either as a "wholesale customer" or "distributor" and the vast majority of them are long gone. I doubt they are shipping 40,000 cases of product per month but I certainly don't know and the people who do know are certainly no saying!

Does this give you a more realistic picture of Xocai?

Hey! Don't shoot the messenger, most people don't do the math and your upline certainly is not going to enlighten you, quite the opposite!

Now lets look at Xocai's rank advancements as announced thru Week-16 April 28th, 2011 according to their Thrilling Thursdays web pages that recognizes rank advancements for the calendar year (also in your Xocai back office). This will give us a true picture of how this company of 200,000 distributors is growing unless Xocai is hiding their rank advancements.

New Bronze and above rank advancements worldwide for 2011, listed by Xocai as of April 28th is 37:

1 Double Diamond - Europe
1 Diamond - Europe
3 Platinum - 2 Europe, 1 North America
4 Gold - 2 Europe, 2 North America
4 Silver - 2 Europe, 2 North America
24 Bronze - 11 Europe, 13 North America

We didn't list Executive as a rank advancement because you can buy that rank by coming in at that level. You can also "Fasttrack" to Silver by sponsoring a certain number of Executives in a short period of time, so you really don't have a sales organization or any real volume but you have the pin, for whatever that is worth.

Xocai states on their website that Gold is when distributors think about going full time and we can tell you from experience that most Silvers are not profitable. Of those 37 rank advancements, 19 are in Europe (especially the bigger ranks), the rest are the U.S. and Canada (established markets). If this was a car I'd be loaning them jumper cables!

So this is what a "growing" company with "200,000 distributors" looks like? Do you really think this company is going into momentum anytime soon or ever?

Why did I do the math and post this information? Because I believe in network marketing and I believe Xocai attracts a very high quality of person because most of their products are excellent and most of the reps believe Xocai is a decent opportunity but are on a diet of hype and questionable information.

I am not saying that Xocai is a scam, it is NOT! But it is a really tough compensation plan and lots of excellent distributors are getting burned out and wondering if the problem is themselves, that maybe they are not cut out for network marketing.

Eventually those frustrated Xocai distributors either quit Xocai and find another opportunity or give up on network marketing completely which is a real shame because network marketing works if you find the right company and products and compensation plan. I have found that combination and encourage frustrated or disgruntled Xocai distributors to examine the Waiora opportunity and put their knowledge of healthy chocolate and passion for helping others to good use.
